you are a Chamber member interested in becoming a
Board member, please contact the Chamber office.
We are looking for interested candidates at the beginning
of each year, so that we have the new Board ready
for the Annual General Meeting which is held each
April.
A
Board member’s responsibilities cover the
following areas:
1.
Term
of Office - By-laws, Board, Artical V, Section 19
Seven Directors will be elected at the Annual
General Meeting as determined by the Membership.
These newly elected individuals,
the new Board of Directors, will then elect a
Chair, a Secretary,
and a Treasurer. No one individual can serve for
more than 3 years on the Board, except for an
outgoing Chairperson who may serve 1 additional
year as Past Chair.
2.
Directors,
Officers and employees must not allow personal
interests to compete with those of the WSCC.
3.
A
Director should be able to attend a monthly
meeting, or as called at the discretion of the
Chair.
4.
Attend
all functions of the Chamber.
5.
Have
time at his or her disposal to sit on or Chair a
committee: usually these committees are not on an
ongoing basis but for a period of time leading up
to an event.
6.
Promote
the Chamber to Business associates.
