In partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival's Film Circuit-Drama/Chinese with English Subtitles - This drama takes as its focal point the construction of China's Three Gorges Project-a project that required engineers to flood the surrounding territories, including the two millennia-old city of Fengjie. Two stories connected to the transformation of the area are interwoven. A miner revisits the vicinity after a 16-year absence to find his wife and daughter and a nurse returns to scour the area for her husband. |

MACEDONIAN FILM FESTIVAL SCREENINGS
Two short films by or about those of Macedonian descent will be featured. "Just Arrived" directed by Sandra Danilovic focuses on the experiences of three Macedonian immigrant families that arrive the Canada seeking a better life and "Soulmates" directed by Marija Makeska is about two young girls whose friendship stands the test of time in the midst of war,hate,cultural and religious differences. The screenings will be followed by a Q&A and an informal meet and greet with directory Sandra Danilovic. |

MOTUS O dance theatre PUBLIC DANCE WORKSHOP - At this year's Strawberry Festival a large group of dancers suddenly and unexpectedly began performing a routine on Stouffville's Main Street-much to the delight of those who happened to be in the area. What looked like an impromptu act was orchestrated in part by MOTUS O dance theatre. This is your opportunity to learn this special routine-a great way to discover your inner dancer! |

In 2008, performer Mia Sheard launched an annual Joni Mitchell night at Toronto's Hugh's Room. Mia rounded up some of her favourite musicians to perform.
